Moose Alumus Heads to Hartford Junior A

The Metro Moose are proud to announce that former defenseman Matt Conway has signed on to play for Coach Chris Cerella’s Hartford Wolf Pack Junior A team next season.Coach Cerella is quickly building the Hartford Wolf Pack into one of the strongest teams in the Atlantic Junior Hockey League, and Matt Conway hopes the experience and exposure of playing Junior A hockey in one of most competitive leagues in the country helps get him onto a college hockey roster.
Matt was a member of the Moose Junior B team for two seasons. His first season was 2007-2008 when he helped lead the team to the playoffs. Then, in 2008-2009, he was part of the team that captured the CHA regular season title before losing the CHA Playoff finals. That season, he was a big part of the success of the team. In winning the regular season title, Matt helped the Moose advance to USA Hockey Junior B Nationals for the first time in franchise history. During the 08-09 campaign, Matt played in 51 games registering 2 goals and 23 assists for 25 points. He was +34 and played a big part in the team’s success on both the power play and penalty killing units.
